Reading of The Declaration of Independence

Charleston, SC-The Carolina Tellers, featuring

Mike Miller were selected to perform the
first public reading of the Declaration of
Independence September 7, 2002 at the North
Charleston Home Depot.
The Carolina Tellers are nationally known
storytellers based in Charleston, SC.
This in-store event offered free kids workshops,
public reading of The Declaration of Independence,
and performances by local community groups.
The Home Depot is once again sponsoring the
Declaration of Independence Road Trip across
America.
The Declaration of Independence is set to
be in Charleston at the Old Exchange Building
downtown from September 11 - 19, 2002.
The DOI Road Trip, a non-profit, nonpartisan
project founded by producer Norman Lear,
is taking "the people's document"
-- the Declaration of Independence -- on
a cross-country tour that will run through
November 2004.
